hi there.

I’m a PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I study the intersection of education, careers, and identity. Born and raised in LaGrange, Georgia, I was a longtime New Yorker, and have taught high school in Brooklyn, New York; Columbus, Ohio; and Carrboro, North Carolina.

A writer, researcher, and musician, I am at work on a novel involving a teacher, his students, and spooky hijinx, as well as a story collection loosely connected to the town where the novel is set and a series of essays about education, work, and meaning.
